Customs & Import Information
At X3M TIG Welding Ltd., we want to be upfront with all of our customers about shipping, customs, and possible import fees. Since our TIGSleeve™ products are shipped directly from Canada, U.S. buyers may occasionally see additional charges when their order enters the United States.
Duty-Free Under CUSMA/USMCA
-
Our products qualify as Canadian-originating goods under the CUSMA/USMCA free trade agreement.
-
This means U.S. Customs duty rates are 0% when the paperwork is applied correctly.
-
However, Customs may still collect fees unrelated to duty (see below).
What Charges Could Apply?
-
Even though TIGSleeve™ is duty-free, U.S. customers may encounter:
-
Import processing fees charged by U.S. Customs.
-
Brokerage/handling fees added by the courier (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.).
-
State or local sales taxes depending on your delivery location.
-
These fees are not included in our product price or shipping costs, and unfortunately, we cannot control them.
Our Commitment
-
To help minimize these charges, we:
-
Always include the correct HS Code: 8205.59.9000 (Hand tools/ including welding accessories/of base metal/other).
-
Provide a CUSMA Certificate of Origin declaration with shipments.
-
Clearly mark the country of origin as Canada.
-
This ensures that no duties should be charged, though carriers may still add their own processing or tax collection fees.
Tips for U.S. Customers
-
Orders under $800 USD often enter the U.S. without issue, but carriers can apply fees at their discretion.
-
Canada Post → USPS is usually the lowest-fee option; UPS and FedEx may add higher brokerage costs.
-
If you have concerns about import charges, contact us before placing your order at info@x3mtig.com and we’ll help advise the best shipping option.
Final Note
-
We value our U.S. customers and want your experience with TIGSleeve™ to be as smooth as possible. By being transparent about customs, duties, and import fees, we hope to avoid surprises and make sure you know exactly what to expect.
-
Thank you for supporting our small business — and weld on!
